My name is Kimberly Thurston - I am an artist.

Thank you for visiting the K-Gal website, an online showcase of my work. In the site you will see the progression of my work from 2003 to pieces from my current series titled From Behind the Tree

After several years of successful work in arts management with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, I decided to leave the traditional work setting in 2004 to paint full-time and build K-Gal Studio.

People often ask how I came up with the name K-Gal. I wanted a name for my painting studio that was feminine and memorable. K-is my nickname, and gal seemed like a perfect feminine component.

I am honored to have work showing in homes and businesses internationally. While I focus on commissioned paintings, I've been fortunate to be involved in projects and collaborations with the Canadian Broadcast Company, Levi Strauss & Co., and GenArt.

Please take a moment before you leave the site to join my mailing list--just click on the contact button and complete the quick form. If you have specific inquiries regarding my work, please go to the contact page and give me a call or send an email.

K-Gal Studio is located in the renowned Zhou B Art Center in Chicago, where it's open to the public the 3rd Friday of every month.

Warm Regards - K
